Perhaps the most famous class of vessel in Starfleet history, the Constitution-Class was a legend in its own time. When launched, the USS Hornet set a new standard of excellence in almost every applicable field - she was simultaneously the fastest ship, most advanced exploration platform and most powerful combat vessel in known space.
The Constitution-Class starships helped to establish a stable Federation presence in the Alpha and Beta Quadrant border areas. The USS Hornet NCC-1714 is part of Task Force 73 and serves as Task Group Bravo's Flagship. Her primary duty is to patrol the Federation-Klingon border and patrol along vital, but "Hot" trade Federation routes.
